Chris Carvalho is Chief Operating Officer of Kabam, the western world leader in free-to-play core games. Chris has overseen almost every aspect of the operations including marketing, finance, business development, international expansion, customer support, and more. Currently, he is focused on global strategic partnerships, corporate communications, and day-to-day operations for the company, which topped $180 million in revenue in 2012. Chris has aligned Kabam with strategic partners such as Apple, Google, and Facebook, among others, for the distribution and promotion of its games. He has helped lead the charge to open up new Kabam revenue opportunities by identifying distribution, payment, and localizations of games. Additionally, Chris secured Kabam’s first Hollywood title, The Godfather: Five Families, in partnership with Paramount Pictures, which helped opened the door for partnerships with Warner Bros., MGM, and NBCUniversal to build more games based on Hollywood’s most iconic movies. Prior to Kabam, Chris spent a decade at Lucasfilm where he was head of business development and drove digital media strategy and partnerships. At Lucasfilm, Chris ran Lucas Online, the division responsible for publishing StarWars.com. Chris received an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley.
